宫殿主人答道：”若是这样，那么世界上再也没有比我这里更适合你居住的了。我这里有山珍海味，你想吃什么就吃什么，不会有人来阻止你;我这里有舒适的床铺，你想睡多久就睡多久，不会有人来打扰你;而且，我保证没有任何事需要你做。”

于是，这个人就住了下来。开始的一段日子，这个人吃了睡，睡了吃，感到非常快乐。渐渐地，他觉得有点寂寞和空虚，于是他就去见宫殿的主人，抱怨道：”这种每天吃吃睡睡的日子过久了一点意思都没有。我现在是满脑肥肠了，对这种生活已经提不起一点兴趣了。你能否我找一份工作?”

安逸的生活原来也是一种地狱!它虽然没有刀山可上，没有火海可下，没有油锅可赴，可它能渐渐的毁灭你的理想，腐蚀你的心灵，甚至可以让你变成一具行尸走肉。无所事事也是一种难捱的痛苦，日理万机有时反倒是一种充实的幸福;生于忧患，死于安乐，大概是人类共同的命运。你看那些富人，钱多的早就花不完，还在拼命做事，为什么?为了自己的生命力。

怀抱希望

和一个朋友约好十点钟在一家超市门口见面，但我坐在广告伞下等了二十分钟，还没见到他的影子，直到十点半他才打来电话，说是塞车了。在百无聊赖的等待中，我玩起了手机里的砌墙游戏。

听到一阵“嗖嗖”的响声，我本能地抬起头来一看，只见不远处的垃圾桶旁，有一个小伙子把身体弯成c字形，头探到垃圾入口处往里看，在桶内翻动着垃圾。由于是第一次看到年轻人拾荒，我多留意了他几眼：已经裂开底部的皮鞋、磨出两个大白印的西裤、污迹斑斑的浅蓝色衬衣毫无保留地把他的艰难生存状况展现了出来。他背着一个旅行包，尽管它又旧又脏，但我仍然可以由此想象到，那些大大小小的格子曾经装满了各种各样美好的梦想，和每一个从农村来到城市里的年轻人一样。也许，此时经历了很多也失去了很多的他，还未曾放弃过他的梦想。是的，他有勇气提起装废品的袋子而不是拿起凶器，他把手伸进垃圾桶而不是伸进行人的口袋，他就是值得尊重的。

我有理由相信，生活的希望之火一直燃烧在他的心里，不然的话，他可能在剩下一张车票钱的时候就已离开这个城市，也可能像很多脆弱的年轻人那样永远地向困难认输了，甚至可能带着被扭曲的心理走向犯罪之路。所以，这个年轻人在拾荒，就说明他遇到了不可避免的困难时，没有退缩，没有放弃，也没有怨恨命运的不公，而是选择了面对。他一定很坚强，我想。果然，在他把一个矿泉水瓶放进袋子，转过身来的时候，我看到了他的脸，黝黑中透着一股刚毅。一瞬间，我的心底升起了一丝敬意，看着他远去的背影，我默默地把祝福送给他。

那位年轻人离开不久，我的朋友气喘吁吁地跑了过来。他坐下来歇了一会儿后，我和他讲了刚才看到的一幕以及我心中的感受，他没有露出吃惊的样子，反而很平淡地说：“这没什么的，你以后还会看到更多这样的年轻人的，因为能一帆风顺地生活的人毕竟是很少的。我们公司的老板也捡过三年的废品呢，可现在他管理之下的公司一个门店的月销售额就有几十万，难以相信吧?只要他的心态够积极，说不定这个年轻人几年之后也是一个老总呢。”

只要不放弃希望，又有什么不可以的呢?我想是这样的。

哀莫大于心死。一个怀着希望的人，永远不会向困难认输。希望能够源源不断地给他提供前进的动力，命运的迷宫就是靠着这样的力量走出去的。没有人知道自己的人生会有多少幸福和痛苦，我们只有心存希望，在重重迷雾中向着幸福的方向前行。

天天忙着砍树

有个伐木工人在一家木材厂找到了工作，报酬不错，工作条件也好，他很珍惜，下决心要好好干。

第一天，老板给他一把利斧，并给他划定了伐木范围。这一天，工人砍了18棵树。老板说：“不错，社这么干!”工人很受鼓舞，第二天，他干得更加起劲，但是他只砍了15棵树;第三天，他加倍努力，可是只砍了10棵。

工人觉得很惭愧，跑到老板那儿道歉，说自己也不知道怎么了，好像力气越来越小了。

老板问他：“你上一次磨斧子是什么时候?”

莫莫笔直地掉下去，掉下去，一直掉到地底下，“咚”的一声，只有他一个人在黑暗中。“咩!”莫莫叫道，可是没有人听到他叫声。他想把墙撞破，可是墙没撞到，倒是把头给撞疼了。

莫莫一个人很孤单。他闭上眼睛，

回想起草地上美妙的早晨。“我多么希望茉莉能跟我在一起啊。”他心想。慢慢地，慢慢地，莫莫就不那么生气了。

当莫莫睁开眼睛的时候，茉莉真的就在他身边!“对不起，我刚才对你发那么大的脾气!”莫莫说。

“没关系。”茉莉说，“我是来找你的。”我猜你可能是走丢了。看，我又找到一个又大又红的苹果，这是给你的!”

“谢谢!”默默感动极了。

茉莉带着莫莫回到草地上。

a woman was waiting at an airport one night, with several long hours before her flight. she hunted for a book in the airport shops, bought a bag of cookies and found a place to drop. she was engrossed in her book but happened to see that the man sitting beside her, as bold as could be, grabbed a cookie or two from the bag in between, which she tried to ignore to avoid a scene. so she munched the cookies and watched the clock, as the gutsy cookie thief diminished her stock.

一天晚上，一位女士在机场候机，她的航班还要等上很长的几个小时。她在机场的商店里找了一本书，买下一袋曲奇饼，找了一个地方坐下。她全神贯注地读着书，忽然看见坐在她旁边的一个男子居然大胆地从他们之间的曲奇饼袋子里拿走了一两块去吃。为了不当众发脾气，她尽量假装没有看见，使劲地嚼着曲奇饼，一边看着表，而那个可恶的曲奇饼小偷正在使她的存货不断减少。

she was getting more irritated as the minutes ticked by, thinking,'if i wasn't so nice, i would blacken his eye.' with each cookie she took, he took one too. when only one was left, she wondered what he would do. with a smile on his face, and a nervous laugh, he took the last cookie and broke it in half. he offered her half, as he ate the other.

时间一分一秒地过去，她越来越生气，心想：“要不是我脾气好，我早把他的眼睛打青了!”就这样，她拿一块曲奇饼，他也拿一块，剩了最后一块时，她不知道对方会怎么做。他呢，脸上带着微笑，又有些紧张，把最后一块曲奇饼拿起来，掰成两半，给她一半，自己把另一半吃了。

she snatched it from him and thought...oooh, brother. this guy has some nerve and he's also rude. why he didn't even show any gratitude! she had never known when she had been so galled and sighed with relief when her flight was called. she gathered her belongings and headed to the gate, refusing to look back at the ingrate thief.

她从对方手里夺下半块曲奇饼，想，哦，老兄!这家伙有点太胆大、太无理了。他竟然都没有露出一点感激的意思!她从来也没有像这样恼怒过，所以在她的航班通告响起时，她如释重负地叹了口气。她收拾好了行李，走向登机口，根本不想再看一眼那忘恩负义的小偷。

she boarded the plane, and sank in her seat. then she sought her book, which was almost complete. as she reached in her baggage, she gasped with surprise. there was her bag of cookies, in front of her eyes. if mine are here, she moaned in despair, the others were his, and he tried to share. too late to apologize, she realized with grief, that she was the rude one, the ingrate, the thief.
